Inclusive Leadership Program Registration

Today’s organizational leaders must play a key role in creating environments in which different ideas, perspectives, experiences and values are leveraged to foster greater creativity and innovation as well as more effective problem-solvingThe University of Cincinnati’s newly formed Warren Bennis Leadership Initiative is offering experienced and future leaders the opportunity to participate in our inaugural inclusive leadership cohort program to be offered beginning Spring 2023. Cohort size will include 16-30 participants. This program is ideal for participants who:
  • Currently have a leadership role and who have or will soon have direct reports
  • Have had basic training in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
  • Are For-Profit first-time leaders who lead diverse teams
  • Are Non-profit executives new to leading teams at the director or executive level

All 7 cohort meetings will last approximately 3 hours (8:30-11:30) and will be held in the Digital Futures building (3080 Exploration Ave., Cincinnati OH 45206). Pre-work will be assigned prior to each meeting to maximize our time together and our ability to learn from one another in an interactive setting. A tentative schedule is provided below:
  • May 18 (In-person) – Cohort member introductions, Setting ground rules,
    Defining inclusion and exclusion, Introducing the three step framework of inclusive leader behaviors,
    developing an inclusive mindset.
  • June 8 (In-person) - Reflecting on our biases, privileges, positionality, and ethnocentrism.
  • July - No cohort meeting, engage in individual inclusion “experiments.”
  • August 17 (Virtual) – Building an inclusive network and reducing status differences.
  • September 14 (In-person) - (In-person) - Identifying strengths and developmental needs; Mayerson Academy: Activating character strengths and becoming authentic at work.
  • October 19 (In-person) - Developing active listening, perspective gaining, and feedback skills; Mayerson Academy: Fostering a strengths-based culture through cultural humility and inclusive communication.
  • November 16 (In person) – (In person) – Practicing everyday inclusive leadership behaviors; Mayerson Academy: Applying strengths-based frameworks, tools, and mindsets to navigate conflict.
  • December 7 (In person) – Presentation of experiment results, “graduation”
